YTKO Group helps to support more than 2,000 unique business journeys every year – in the last 6 years, more than 22,000 individuals have engaged with our start-up services.
In the public sector we do this by delivering flexible, tailored, high quality support, and a relentless focus on the client. Our National and EU award-winning business start-up support service, Outset, delivers pre-start, start-up, finance and sustainability support, using a unique model to target disadvantaged and under-represented groups around the country, but particularly in urban, coastal, rural and deprived communities.
We’re now also able to extend our impact with our e-learning tool, Outset Online. It’s the same award-winning content delivered in a user-friendly, highly interactive and social platform, encompassing over fifty hours of learning and a dynamic online community of business owners and mentors. While allowing us to extend our geographical reach and furthering our inclusive approach for those who are unable to attend our workshops, Outset Online also offers a post-project legacy for ongoing peer support.
As a national delivery partner of the government’s Start Up Loans scheme, our Outset Finance service allows us to offer our clients holistic support when it comes to accessing finance – particularly those that might struggle to get a loan from mainstream lenders or have been rejected by the bank. Since 2014, we have secured more than £7 million in Start Up Loans for clients around the country and we offer both pre-application support and 12-months of post-loan mentoring for all successful applicants.
Our Enterprising Women community, dedicated to supporting women at all stages of the enterprise journey was recognised by BIS as one of three examples of national best practice for SME support in 2009. We offer a range of resources, events, networking and training opportunities and other support for women who are just starting up.
Outside of the public sector, our commercialisation of academic IP and support for graduate entrepreneurship bridges the chasm between HE, FE and the business world. Our Enterprise Fellowships for bioscience, healthcare and chemical researchers at Yorkshire universities delivered a 360 per cent return on investment for Yorkshire Forward.
For more skilled, nascent entrepreneurs, including redundant professionals, YTKO Group has been selected by the world’s largest philanthropic entrepreneurship organisation, the Kauffman Foundation, to hold the UK licence for delivering its FastTrac start up programmes.
