Bassetlaw High Street Business Support Programme 

The Bassetlaw High Street Business Support Programme, commissioned by Bassetlaw District Council and funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, gives up to 80 retail and hospitality businesses support they need to grow, and aims to deliver long-term business improvements within the area.  

The project will run until 31st March 2026 and offers up to 80 businesses the opportunity to gain support. You are eligible to join the Programme if you are:

  • An Independently owned business operating in: Retail, Hospitality, personal care or leisure
  • You employ up to 49 employees 
  • Your business is located within the main town/local centres in the district: Worksop, Retford, Harworth & Bircotes or Tuxford . 
  • NB Businesses within these sectors outside of these areas (within the Bassetlaw district) are eligible to engage in the programme.

The programme only has 80 places and these will be allocated on a first come, first served basis so apply now to avoid missing out!

The support you will receive:

Our programme of support has been designed to help High Street businesses to build business resistance and the grow.  We will achieve this through a series of different activities, which are all free to our clients, including:

  • 1-2-1 face-to-face business support coaching with business owners and managers with our experienced business advisors
  • Provision of workshops on a variety of retail-related topics, such as digital capability and e-commerce adoption
  • Help in creation of robust action plans to build business resilience and enable strategic growth
  • Assistance in grant applications for High Street Support grants. 
  • Provision of regular business surgeries/drop-in sessions and networking events
  • Ideas for enhancing customer in-store experience and footfall generation; 
  • Advice on workforce development, including apprenticeships; 
  • How to prepare for market shocks and supply chain disruption.
