Bristol summit to put retrofit, safety and green skills under the spotlight
The future of construction will be in sharp focus this autumn as Bristol hosts the Construction & Retrofit Summit 2025, delivered by YTKO in partnership with Retrofit West CIC and funded by the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority.
Taking place on Thursday 16 October at Bristol City Hall, the half-day event will bring together senior figures from across the sector to tackle three of the industry’s biggest challenges: scaling up retrofit, meeting the requirements of the Building Safety Act, and closing the green skills gap.
Under the banner “Rebuilding the Future: Innovation, Sustainability, and Efficiency in the Built Environment,”the summit will see contractors, architects and engineers debate how the industry can adapt to a rapidly shifting landscape.
The Summit builds on the new West of England Combined Authority’s Growth Strategy which was launched last week and highlights that both construction and clean energy have boomed in the region – with over 140% growth in the last ten years!
The format will go beyond traditional presentations, giving delegates the chance to:
- Gain clarity on regulation and policy – understand the impact of the Building Safety Act and upcoming requirements
- Spot new opportunities – discover where investment and demand in retrofit and sustainable construction are growing
- Access decision-makers directly – connect with local authorities, clients and peers driving change in the West of England
- Shape solutions – take part in small-group breakout discussions focused on practical, actionable outcomes
