Award-winning business support consultancy YTKO Group has been commissioned by the Connecting Devon and Somerset (CDS) partnership to deliver free support for businesses and communities wanting to take full advantage of superfast broadband services in the region.
The contract forms part of a major new drive to shape the digital future of Devon and Somerset, with improved access to a range of services, including opportunities for learning, growth and online collaboration.
YTKO Group, which has inspired the launch of more than 1,200 new businesses through its Outset start-up support and New Enterprise Allowance programmes, will provide a combination of information sessions, one-to-one mentoring and skills development workshops for business and community users of superfast broadband.
The company brings more than 30 years’ commercial and technical expertise and its award-winning approach to enterprise support to the programme. YTKO Group chief executive, Bev Hurley, says, “Superfast Broadband has the potential to boost Devon and Somerset’s economy significantly, by allowing businesses and communities to work more effectively and in new ways. Our aim is to help business owners exploit the opportunities it creates fully.”
In Plymouth, Torbay and Somerset alone, YTKO Group has helped to create more than 300 new businesses which, says Bev, has underlined the importance of superfast broadband to the creation of successful, sustainable enterprise in the region.
“We will provide advice, information and the tools to help make a difference for businesses of all sizes. From going global and selling more, to working and collaborating online, our aim is to bring superfast broadband to life, with transformative benefits for people living and working in Devon and Somerset”.
YTKO Group’s superfast broadband support programme for Connecting Devon and Somerset is being led by Programme Director Stephen Oliver. He and the rest of the team are based at the company’s new offices at Bathurst House, Smythen Street, Exeter, EX1 1BN.
