Outset Torbay unlocks enterprise potential

Outset Torbay is a three-year support programme funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and Torbay Development Agency delivering Enterprise Coaching and Intensive Start-up Support to support people from under-represented groups into self-employment.

Ensuring the widest possible accessibility of our workshops is high on our agenda. In April we launched weekend workshops, recognising that many people have work or family commitments during the week. The latest addition to our programme extends our support to women, through women-only sessions delivered twice weekly. Women’s engagement with business support services is notoriously low, but consistently even representation between men and women across our programmes is a testament to the tailored support we provide.

Torbay Development Agency’s Urban Enterprise Coordinator, Carl Wyard, said: “We are very pleased to see Outset Torbay delivering these events for people considering starting a business. The support from Outset forms part of a wide range of support packages to help Torbay businesses start up, develop and grow.”

The latest client feedback survey from Outset Torbay revealed that 100% of clients feel the programme has met their expectations and needs, with 98% rating sessions as ‘very good’.
