Expansion of GetSet for Growth service set to unlock growth potential of ambitious SMEs

YTKO Group’s growth and investment readiness service, GetSet for Growth has just launched five new services across the West Midlands, West of England, South West, Solent and East of England, supported by the Regional Growth Fund (RGF).

Building on GetSet’s success supporting over 1,000 businesses in Cornwall, Bournemouth and East London, this latest extension of the service will support the growth of thousands of ambitious businesses through a unique combination of marketing and finance support.

The service will also play an active role in helping businesses to access finance for growth, building on its 98% success rate for helping clients secure funding totalling over £3 million to date.

The launch of the service will be welcome news to many businesses that need support on the road to growth. The Department of Business, Innovation and Skills’ 2014 Small Business survey found that despite 73% of UK SMEs claiming aspirations for growth, only 28% feel confident about entering new markets and almost half have had difficulties in accessing finance.

This investment from the Regional Growth Fund is further validation of this, and we’re delighted to be able extend our support to even more businesses across the UK.”

‘Ambitious but stuck’ businesses from all sectors and of all sizes will be eligible to apply for this new fully funded support but will need to demonstrate both their intention and potential to grow in order to qualify.

Once accepted into the programme, businesses will receive a tailored package of support, comprising both masterclasses and hands-on 1:1 expert advice, aimed at targeting their specific challenges and increasing their knowledge, confidence and management skills.

Highly experienced commercial marketing and finance professionals, many of whom have had first hand experience running their own businesses and overcoming these challenges, will help SMEs create robust, strategic growth plans, build effective marketing and sales strategies designed to increase organic growth, and identify and secure sources of finance.

Over the coming weeks, the newly launched GetSet services will be actively reaching out to local businesses that may benefit from the programme. The teams also work closely with a range of local and national partners to explore new opportunities for supporting the growth of SMEs, who are the lifeblood of the UK economy.
