Big company thinking for SME businesses

Unlocking Potential (UP) is a not-for-profit partnership between YTKO Group, the University of Plymouth and Cornwall College. The programme’s aim is to enable and equip ambitious businesses to pursue new opportunities, overcome specific business challenges and explore new ways of doing things.

Business leaders with common goals are brought together in learning groups, where they can gain knowledge and skills, share barriers and test solutions in a peer-to-peer learning environment over three days.

As the partner bringing 30 years first hand, private sector experience of how to overcome the specific challenges that face growing businesses, Versio, YTKO Group’s specialist SME consultancy, is already underway with its action-packed autumn programme, helping the first of 174 businesses get to grips with growth.

The first fully-facilitated learning group on Managing capacity in your business, attracted participation from diverse areas of business, including software development, construction and architects. Together, delegates shared their experiences, drawn together within workshop content by the experienced facilitation of Versio’s Tim Bryant and David Bone.

“We cover a lot of ground in these days,” said David, “to ensure that delegates, leave the learning group with more focus, clarity and understanding, together with highly practical strategies that they can use immediately to grow their business. They also build relationships with their peers facing the same challenges, a source of ongoing informal support and connection which will continue long afterwards.”

Other key barriers to growth, and the topics of upcoming learning groups, include Marketing – the key for sales; It’s all about People; Financing your Growth and our Enterprising Women Growth Programme.

Versio will be delivering UP workshops and events for business owners throughout Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. For further information, please see details on the Versio website or email
