In 2014, Connecting Cambridgeshire called on Enterprising Women to deliver a series of free training and networking events across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, aimed at encouraging women to start or grow a business, return to employment or work from home.
Part of the Destination Digital programme, and funded by the Government Equalities Office’s Women and Broadband Challenge Fund, this series of workshops is designed to encourage women to take advantage of faster broadband to expand or set-up new businesses, including home-based businesses.
Enterprising Women delivered three core workshops as part of this series:
1. Digital Marketing: A foundational workshop designed to help women build an effective online brand, develop their e-business skills and get more out of social media.
2. Set up your own home office: This workshop offers women advice on how to set up a home office and provides tips for how to successfully work on your own.
3. Returning to work: A workshop that offers tools to raise IT confidence after a career break and how to cope with the emotional change.
Participants so far have said:
“Useful content and helpful guidance. Good case studies, which provide thought provoking, light bulb moments.”
“Really engaging and brilliant content and delivery. Good way to network with different business.”
“I’m just starting out. An eye opener on working out – what my brand is, who my audience is and how do I get to them.”
“Great to meet other participants and get to know them a little. Personalities start to come through, which is great from a networking point of view.”
