Connecting and supporting the innovators
YTKO-managed Innovation Networks meet the needs of forward-thinking, ambitious businesses, researchers and entrepreneurs who want to grow, or who are already growing, a successful company based on new approaches to products, services and processes.
Innovation Networks must, of course, be innovative themselves, using a mix of media, tools and resources to act as a catalyst, clearinghouse, and communications centre for those in growth businesses.
A good Network should foster, guide and support pre-start, start-up and growing businesses using information resources, people, existing (Government and other) support services, and local and national sources of finance. It can also support schools enterprise.
It provides a bridge between academia, research and business, especially leveraging existing entrepreneurs’ experiences, creating and sustaining momentum in developing relationships between all interested parties, involving the investment community, professional service sector, media and local, national and international businesses, with new and growing enterprises and those considering creating such firms.
The Network is a communications device itself: it must work to overcome any barriers to communication or information flow, locally, nationally and internationally, and be proactive in connecting like-minded members. It is also a publisher: identifying, collecting and publishing relevant knowledge, especially that related or presented in its forums and at its events.
Innovation Networks dovetail neatly with Collaboration Networks… and provide a route to market for further training and coaching services, and two-way communication with those responsible for economic development and business support policy.
