Building enterprise awareness and aspiration
YTKO delivers a variety of enterprise education, training, masterclasses and seminars to develop skills in the entrepreneurs of the future, as well as in existing businesses. We believe enterprise awareness and education is essential in developing entrepreneurial cultures through a holistic continuum and a joined-up approach, from schools, through further and higher education, into business start-up and beyond.
- YTKO provides a variety of enterprise training programmes aimed at all levels, from Sowing the Seeds aimed at Year 9 students right through to graduate and post-graduate enterprise workshops and activities such as business plan competitions.
- Delivering commercial-ready science and technology graduates requires a highly-focused, intensive and concentrated training programme. YTKO delivers a practical and relevant set of training workshops where the graduate will discover and learn the fundamental commercial skills required by corporate employers, and have the opportunity to practise and develop these capabilities. Not only does this provide industry with more enterprising graduates and strengthened university/industry relationships, but it also helps graduate retention in the area, encouraging local employment.
- The quality and relevance of our outreach and engagement, introduction to enterprise workshops and use of role models are highly appealing to under-represented enterprise communities in deprived areas who are not easily reached by, or who don’t engage with, mainstream business support or enterprise programmes. These include women, over 50s, BME, disabled and multiply disadvantaged clients, as well as high growth potential SET women. Building confidence, understanding and self-esteem is frequently the starting point of the enterprise journey.
